Phantom of the Opera

The challenge this week at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner is #43 to make a step center card.  Our sponsors this week are Sassy Studios and Paper Makeup Stamps.  I used Phantom of the Opera by Sassy Studios.

The paper I got as a freebie online.  The tickets are by Jim Holtz.  The brad is from Stampin' Up and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I made the masks with FIMO.  I am pleased with how the phantom's mask turned out.  I do not like the ladies mask.  I tried to do the edges with Stickles and they would not go on smoothly.  they were either too thin or clumped.  Even the Liquid Pearls I used for embellishment on the mask did not adhere correctly.  Oh well.

Favorite Five of 2012

There is a wonderful challenge running over at A Scrapjourney to pick your five favorite cards of 2012.  I enjoy doing this every year.  It's fun to look back at my work.  Although, I usually do see a lot more that I'm not fond of.  Some are very special to me for different reasons.

This was my favorite card this year.  The image is from Digi Doodle Shop.  Unfortunately, it is now closed, but I was on their design team for quite a while so I have a good stock of images.  I especially loved their animal images.  It's hard to find lifelike animal images elsewhere.  Here is the link to the original post, Barnyard Rooster

This image is from Elizabeth Bell.  I love the pink, blue and yellow combo.  Here is a link to my post,

This image is from Kenny K.  I must admit, this card was very out of character for me to do.  I was unsure if I was going to post it or not.  I did so enjoy making it, though.  I'm really looking forward to more Kenny K cards this year.  Here is a link to my post, Layer Upon Layer

This is my favorite image from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I have used it so many times so far.  This card was requested by a coworker.  Here is a link to my post, For Makela

This image is from Kenny K.  It was a birthday card for my son Tim, who is a film major.  He used to dress like this all the time.  I just love the black, white and red combo.  Here is a link to the original post, Birthday Card for Tim.

Stella - I.R.S.

Come join us for another great week for Tammy’s Scrapin Corner Challenge #42, BINGO.
This week’s challenge is sponsored by Bugaboo.  I used this humorous image called "Stella/IRS."
Boy, do I understand how she feels.  The good old IRS gets us every year.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Lucas at Almost Four Months

I am so thrilled with this little guy.
Who would have thought?
I thought I didn't like babies.
He proved me wrong!

Final Christmas Cards This Year

Every year I make a few, what we call, "naughty cards" for the ladies at work to give to their husbands.  I try to color them to match their hair and eye color.  These are some of this year's cards.  I realized after I colored them that the bow just blends in with her outfit.  I should have made it green.  Oh well, next time.  I already have next year's image picked out.  I should start them soon so I'm not last minute again.

Last Minute Cards

I needed a few extra cards so I whipped these up really quickly.
I tried to keep them a little less decorated so they're easier to mail.

I think I'm done with Christmas cards now!  Next year I'm doing the Splitcoast Christmas Card Challenge again.  I should have done it this year.  That will keep me from having to rush last minute to get them done.  I'll be making one a week throughout the year.

Snowflake Blessings

This is my favorite image from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I usually color her with aquas, but decided to go for pink this time.  The snowflakes are actually the leftovers from the Martha Stewart snowflake border punch.  I love the effect they give and their tiny size.

I found the sentiment on one of my Hallmark card programs.  I thought it would be perfect with this card.  In fact, the sentiment is what gave me the idea for the snowflakes.

Three Kings

This card is for Tammy's Scrapin' Corner Challenge #41, Anything Goes, Any Artist.  I used this really lovely  image from Eureka called Three Kings.  You should stop and visit their shop, if you get a chance.

This was one of those card making days where I felt like nothing went right.  I finally had to decide just to let the image be.  I couldn't get what was in my mind out the end of the markers.  That's it, I'll blame the markers!

I used quite a few Martha Stewart Glitter Pens on this.  Unfortunately, it doesn't show in the photo.   The pearls are from Zva.  The paper is from my stash.

Someone's on Santa's Naughty List

It's time for Challenge #40 at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner, Shaped Cards.  I used several really cute images from QKR.  Christmas Kitty reminds me of a cat I had not too many years ago.  His name was Jingle Bells because our neighbor gave him to us as a tiny kitten on Christmas morning.  They had found him in the engine compartment of their car.  We had him for eighteen wonderful years before he passed. It makes me realize how much I miss him.  The other two images  from QKR are Decorated Tree and Christmas Border.  The stack of presents is from Bugaboo.  I printed two of the image, one reversed, and in different sizes, for interest.  I photographed this card with and without the sentiment.  I just can't decide which way I like it better.

Here's the version without the sentiment.

I colored the images with Copic markers.  B02, B04, BG02, C2, C5, E34, E24, E37, G21, G24, G28, G29, R21, R22, R24, R27, V05, Y11, Y35, Y38, YR04, YR12, YR14

Baby Paint Meets Snowman

This card is for Tammy's Scrapin' Corner Challenge #39, Anything Christmas.  I chose this cute image by Digi Darla.  I decided to go with feathers again for the embellishment just to do something unusual.  The paper is Mirabelle from the Paper Studio.  I colored it with Copics.  The bit of green on the center of the feathers are holly leaves, although it's hard to tell in the photograph.
