Card for Tom

This is a Christmas card I made for my husband Tom.  I usually don't do this type of image, but I thought it would be kind of interesting to try.  I actually had quite a bit of fun with it!  The image is from KennyK and is called Toy Soldier.  The paper is from my stash.  I embossed the snowflake layer and painted it with Glamour Dust.  As usual, the sparle does not show in the photo.  I kind of wish I had picked out a better portion of the paper.  the top left corner is a fairly dark section of the print.  I didn't even realize it until I saw it in the photo.

Birthday Tiger

This is my entry for Digi Doodle Shop's Challenge this week "Animals."  My absolute favorite thing to color!  I decided to use this gorgeous tiger image.  They have so many beautiful animal digis for you animal lovers out there.  I always check Google images before I color now so I can at least attempt to color accurately.  A while ago I colored a skunk with the stripes done completely wrong..  I learned my lesson...now I do some research!  I colored  the image with Copics and edged the paper with Stampin' Up pastels.  The paper is from Graphics 45 "A Proper Gentleman."  The eyelets are from my stash.  I wonder if I'll actually ever use them up.

Catch a Bug?

I bought this little guy from Mo's Digital Pencil ages ago.  He is ideal for My Time to Craft's challenge this week: Under the Weather. Doesn't he look totally miserable and adorable at the same time?

I colored him with Copics, of course.  I just started taking some online Copic classes.  I'm hoping to enhance my coloring skills. I learned some things I didn't know already, such as why my markers "bloop" sometimes and how to fix the marker.  That's my word for when the ink just randomly flows out on whatever you're working on.

The papers are from my stash.  This blue gingham is one of my absolute favorites and I think I only have about a quarter of a page left.  Time to buy more.  I hope I can find it again.

Fun Card for the Week

I haven't had too much time lately to work on cards.  I finally made time to do this one.  The digi is from Digidoodlestampart on Etsy.  I fell in love with it when I fist saw it.  He's the typical Santa we all think of from when we were little.  At least, I do!

I colored him with Copics.  The paper is from Basic Grey-Eskimo Kisses.  The flowers are from
Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm hoping to find lots of applicable challenges.

Christmas Tree

Okay, this really gave me a workout.  It took about two and a half hours to color.  I was pretty much done coloring and was doing some embellishments such as Stickles on the ornaments.  I decided that the cranberries on the garland night look good with small dots of liquid pearls to give them dimension.  Not!!!  Up near the star I started with the liquid pearls.  The dots were coming out too large and just didn't look good.  I very carefully tried to wipe off the two dots I had done.  What I got was a large red smear.  Nothing would take it off.  I was just going to tear the card in half and put it in the circular file.  I decided instead to cut out a larger star than what had been on the tree.  I Stickled it up and put it on a pop dot.  Fortunately, it covered my red smear very well.  the card actually looks much better in real life, when you can see all the glitter.  That was my adventure in card making this week.

I almost forgot!!! This is mt DT entry for Digi Doodle Shop's Challenge this week.  It's red and green.  So everyone get something Christmasy going and play along.

Christmas Tags...Thank You Dearie Dolls!

I made this set of tags with a gift sent from Dearie Dolls on Etsy.  If you haven't been there yet please go and visit.  They have lots of super cute digis.  I will be working on some Christmas cards with their images in the next few days.

I was excited when I got these tags in my email.  I finally had a use for some card stock I had been saving for almost four years.

When my daughter was getting married I ordered her invitations online.  The were hundreds of colors to choose from.  I ordered a sample pack of all their colors so I could match them to the wedding colors.  I have been holding on to these scraps of  2X3 1/2  pieces since figuring I would use them someday.  Voila!  As soon as I saw the tags I knew I could use up my samples.  I have never made tags before.  I really enjoyed it.  It's a small project that can get done quickly.

I stamped the backs  with a To: and From: stamp from Stampin" Up.  The pieces of cardstock all have the color name on them and the company's name so I just made sure that side was under the picture.

You'll probably be seeing lots of tags from me, all in different colors, since I only have one card of each color.  Lots of variety!

I would like to enter these in the following challenges:

The Perfect Tree

Digi Doodle Shop's Challenge this week is a sketch challenge.  I used the image The Perfect Tree for my design.  I wanted to give it an antique feel so I used lots of brown in my papers and on the snowflakes.                                                                               It is colored with Copics. I added Stickles to the snowflakes, but don't like that you can see the blue in them.                                                                                                                                     Copics:  B0000, B00, B21, B23, CO, C1, C3, C5, E00, E02, E08, E11, E13, E15, E19,  E25, G21, G24, G94, R11, R22, R24, R29, YR12,  YR14

Copic Marker Scrapbooking

I am happy to announce that I was asked to be on the design team for Copic Marker Scrapbooking.  I, of course, absolutely love my Copic markers.  This will give me an opportunity to work with a great bunch of designers.  Here is the first card that I did as a guest designer.  I was sick so I didn't get to post it right away.  I'm a little late for the holiday.   I could also use it as a Thanksgiving card.   I just love the expressions on their faces.

The Animals' Christmas

Digi Doodle Shop is running an exciting special for the month of November.  All animal digis are 25% off.  Anyone that knows me at all knows animal digis are my absolute favorite!  Along with the 25% off, for spending $7.00 in a single purchase, you will get the two free stamps pictured above which were made specifically for this event.

More importantly, two dollars of the purchase price will be donated to the organization Pet Pardons.
You can visit the website to see how much has been donated so far.

This card was colored with Copics.  Unfortunately, I put my markers away before I recorded the colors.  I used Stickles on the snow.  I found the star at JoAnn's and I just couldn't resist.  I made my husband go out in the garage 10:00 at night to file the button loop off the back of the button so I could glue it to the card.  He only complained a little.  What a sweetie!

Sun, Moon or Stars

Well, I'm finally better.  I had some kind of a virus.  It's really been going around.  This is my DT entry for My Time to Craft's latest challenge, Sun, Moon or Stars.  I found this image at A Day for Daisies,  I thought it was so adorable and fit the theme perfectly.  I colored it with Copics and used pastels for the sky and the glow around the moon.  I believe the paper is from Jillibean Soup, but I'm not sure.

Rainy Days

This is my DT entry for My Time to Craft's latest challenge, Rainy Days.  The image is by Deedle-Dee Doodles.  I used fake stitching on this.  That's so much easier than dragging out the sewing machine.  She's colored with Copics.
